“For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”
Romans 10:11
The story of the ten lepers come vividly to mind, they probably had heard about Jesus’ encounter with the first leper:
“And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.” Matthew 8:2-3
And has their hope came alive when they heard Jesus was passing by. The Bible says they stood afar off, and probably expected Jesus to call them over and touch everyone of them like he did the first leper.
“And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” Luke 17:13
Jesus gave them a puzzling instruction, he told them to go shew themselves to the priests- only those who were cleansed could present themselves to the priests and as far as they knew, he had not prayed for them and nothing had changed, but they followed his word.
“And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.” Luke 17:14
They got their miracle, they acted in faith even when they couldn’t see a change and they were not put to shame. If you abandon yourself on the word of God, you will never be put to shame! Have faith, rejoice!
