“For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”
Romans 10:11
Jesus said:
“Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” John 11:40
The confidence with which he spoke even with Martha’s agitation shows what he said was to be taken as gospel forever!
If you believe, you would see the glory of God. Where there has been shame; what should lead to shame, if you believe would turn out glorious, would express the glory of God! Jesus, knew this first hand, when he was told Lazarus was sick:
“When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.” John 11:4
This is not the first time he ministered like that, he did same thing with the Noble man’s son:
“Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.” John 4:50
So they would have expected the same outcome from such a similar statement 7 chapters later, guess what? Lazarus died! What embarrassment, but you know what? Jesus believed, and that situation that should have been shameful resulted in the glory of God.
All through his journey, he remembered his original statement, he knew God heard him, he was confident, he didn’t doubt in his heart, he believed what he said, and he moved that mountain- just as he had taught:
“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Mark 11:23
Our wonderful Jesus!
