Jesus told us:
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…” Matthew 28:19
Before he said that, he made clear who had the highest authority everywhere— he did, and he delegated that to us:
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Matthew 28:18
This means as we head out, we shouldn’t be bothered that the authorities would oppose our message, he has the highest authority everywhere- the gospel isn’t just for the poor and downtrodden, it is for all who are sinners and alienated from God irrespective of their position in society, and so no matter the room or office we find ourselves, there’s a disciple there waiting to be made.
Hear what he told Paul:
“Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace… for I have much people in this city.” Acts 18:9-10
And how true that statement was.
Paul, Barnabas, Silas, Timothy journeyed to strange countries, places they had never been to before and everywhere they went, someone believed the gospel and followed them; there are potential disciples everywhere.
