“and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are worthless.”” 1 Corinthians 3:20, ISV
He says God knows the thoughts of those who are wise in this world are worthless, they don’t amount to anything and so he admonishes us to not walk in deception but to focus on what works, what produces results, what causes a change:
“Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.” (1 Corinthians 3:18)
And that’s faith:
“And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.” Luke 17:6
Faith comes by hearing, hearing the word of God (Romans 10:17)— not giving in to your carnal observations or the conclusions of those who espouse wisdom from this world.
In your desire to live a fulfilled and productive life, be single eyed- only God’s word is needful.
