“Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.”
Romans 8:12

You can rebel against what you perceive with your five senses, you can rebel against acting according to the human nature; you are no longer bound to respond in a certain manner, your response can be entirely antithetical to the dictates of the flesh and fully submissive to the expression of the word:
“Consequently, brothers, we are not—with respect to human nature, that is—under an obligation to live according to human nature.” Romans 8:12, ISV
This is because when you got born again, the old man died and your old human nature was supplanted by God’s divine nature, created after God in righteousness and true holiness:
“And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” Ephesians 4:24
This means you can have a right and sanctified response in every situation, you don’t have to excuse the wrong responses with statements like ‘I’m only human’, you can aim and attain having righteous expressions always.
