Last Sunday was an awesome time of refreshing for everyone present in service as we listened to and were blessed by God’s word. During the message, Pastor made us understand that God’s idea for our doing the word is not that it should be a struggle. Rather, it should come naturally and this only happens by keeping the instruction in Joshua 1:8 to keep speaking the word and meditating therein in order to observe what we speak. The tongue is the reset button of the body. With the tongue, you can control how your body responds and if you keep speaking the right words, your actions will be rightly controlled by the words you speak to your own benefit.

Pastor taught us that in speaking the word, we must realise that a delay in seeing the manifestation of what we have spoken is not a denial, neither does it mean nothing is happening as some people confess when they have been speaking the word without seeing the desired results. Something is definitely happening. Jesus had a similar experience of a seeming delay when he spoke to a fig tree with no instant visible change but that did not make him reconsider the efficacy of the words he spoke. The children of Israel walked around the city of Jericho for seven days without any seeming effect until they had gone round the seventh time on the seventh day and shouted as God instructed. The walls did not come down because of their weak and weary shouts, it came down because they kept the instruction God gave them completely. Nothing was happening physically as they walked round the city but spiritually something was happening and in an instant, it manifested as the walls came crashing down. God’s methods are always different from man’s methods. Many times we expect and want to begin to see little changes else we conclude that nothing is happening. But God doesn’t always work that way, he can cause a total change in an instant at the right time. Don’t stop speaking! When what you have being saying eventually manifests, you will have all that you desire. If you really believe God, you’ll keep his instructions to keep speaking the word.

Pastor gave us two instructions on how to respond if you have been speaking and the reverse of what you said should happen is what happened. The first is not to give up too soon. Fight the good fight of faith. In Matthew 13:20-21, Jesus spoke of those who received the word with joy and endured a while but when challenges came because of the word, they got offended. They gave up too soon having not seen the manifestation of the words they heard, rather, troubles arose as a result of the word. Pastor emphasised from the verse that when troubles arise because of the words you heard, the troubles came to test if you truly believe what you heard. If it is true that the challenge came because of the word, then it means that word is big enough to overcome the challenge. This should be our disposition. For example, if you have been speaking perfect health and sickness came, it came to prove that you really believe what you have been saying. Do like Jesus! Don’t be moved, rather, maintain the word that you have spoken.

The second instruction is as seen in the parable of the wheat and tares, where a man sowed good seeds in his field but an enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat. He recognised that it was not anything he had done wrong but an enemy who was responsible for it. When you have done all the right things you ought to do and things still don’t turn out the right way or turn out badly, there is only one person behind it, the devil. Be aware of this and respond by casting him out. He is inconsequential and you are much bigger than he is. All you need to do is learn to put him in his place.

Much more details to learn on how to deal with the devil and stay on top in this super enlightening message.
