“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)”  
Romans 5:17

When God made man he told him:
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, AND SUBDUE IT; AND HAVE DOMINION over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”  Genesis 1:28

Firstly, no one is ever told to subdue things that do not have the potential to be rebellious, you don’t subdue your television at home because it’ll always obey you, but you would have to subdue your puppy, because at times it won’t obey you. This means, in that instruction, God already prepared Adam for this:
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:”  Genesis 3:4
When the serpent became rebellious, opposing what God had said, and Adam knew he was lying:

“And Adam was not deceived…”  1Timothy 2:14
God expected Adam to subdue and have dominion, in other words tell him to “shut up and get out”, but he didn’t.

Then came the second Adam, and anytime Satan showed his ugly head, hear him speak to satan:
“Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan:…”  Matthew 4:10
“But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!””  Mark 1:25, ISV
“But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan:…”  Matthew 16:23

God has the same instruction for you, actually expressing this new life means reigning over rebellious situations! When satan comes with thoughts that oppose God’s word, don’t try to understand what is saying, neither should you be cause negotiating or discussing with satan, do like Jesus:
“Get the hence Satan”
Reign!
“…In my name shall they cast out devils…”  Mark 16:17
