Glory! Glory!! Glory!!! It’s a new month, the first month of the second half of the glorious year 2021 and we all came to church eager and excited to receive God’s word and be propelled by it into a greater half of the year. Pastor began to teach from Hebrews 11:3, showing us that the things that are seen are made from things that are unseen and so by changing the things that are unseen, we can change the things that are seen, we learnt that these unseen things are invisible yet real and from the verse of scripture, we saw that this unseen creative force is the word of God by which all things are made. We went on to 1 Corinthians 3:9 where we saw that we are God’s garden and his building, there is a way he wants us to turn out, a way he wants people to see us and he is building our lives to this end, we saw this more clearly in Ephesians 3:10, how God wants to make his wisdom known to the principalities and powers in heavenly places through us such that as they observe us and the things we do, they are amazed at the wisdom of God manifest in us, this was further corroborated in 1 Peter 1:12 where it talks about how the angels desire to understand this gospel that we have been made partakers of, we learnt in summary that God’s plan is that we would manifest his wisdom so much, our lives would begin to teach the principalities and powers and he is building us up to this end, that we should be to the praise of his glory. (Ephesians 1:12) Pastor took us to Hebrews 13:5-6 showing us how that God has spoken words so that we can also boldly speak words consistent with what he has said, we learnt that he is building us up but as labourers together with him, he supplies the words while we play our part by speaking forth those words, thereby influencing our experiences in life, Pastor also taught us that with words, we can uproot unwanted situations in our lives just as the farmer takes out weeds from his farm.We learnt from the story of Abraham who against hope believed in hope that he might become the father of many nations according to what was spoken, God had made him the father of many nations through words and even though he could not see it, it was real, he only had to play his part to ensure a manifestation of what God had spoken, to achieve this, God gave him words to influence his reality, by changing his name from Abram to Abraham, he had to start telling everyone who had known him that he now had a new name and he also had to introduce himself to anyone he met according to the new name which was an expression of what God had spoken, with his words, he changed what could be seen and he became the father of many nations. In the same way, we get to manifest God’s desire for our lives by taking the words he has spoken to and concerning us and saying something as a result, Pastor showed us that God is more aware about our situation than we are, so when he gives us words, he gives us those words with the full knowledge of our situation and with the assurance that those words are relevant to our situation. At this point, Pastor declared July as our talking month, she announced that it will be a month where we will speak God’s word much more than we have done in the past and change our experiences thereby, we took some time to exercise ourselves with 1 Peter 2:9 declaring that according to what God has spoken, we are God’s choice, set apart, special, unique and nothing is too good for us.
