“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”
Ephesians 3:20
Jesus decided one day to feed over five thousand people and he had not prearranged the funds with his disciples! Even when throwing a house party, one has to plan, the wedding ceremony he had earlier attended, with all of the planning ran out of wine:
“And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.” John 2:3
But here he was, out of nowhere suggesting to his disciples that he wanted to feed over five thousand people:
“When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” John 6:5
Here was the dilemma, it wasn’t money:
“Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.” John 6:7
Even right now, which bakery would one find over five thousand loaves of bread and fishes readily available for sale? Talk less of finding such an amount in the wilderness! At this point, money- which some rich men can readily make available- was not the problem, availability of resources was. Man’s money and expertise would fail at this juncture, but Jesus is more than enough- he wrought a miracle and the people ate till they couldn’t eat anymore:
“And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes AS MUCH AS THEY WOULD.” John 6:11
This same Jesus, who is the same yesterday, today and forever is the Lord of your life- and your finances. What then is impossible? Nothing!
