“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”
Ephesians 3:20
Jesus said:
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:…” Acts 1:8
So every Christian with the Spirit has power; the power isn’t outside and isn’t going to fall from the sky; every Christian has power; every Christian has the ability to effect changes- some Christians can effect larger changes and some lesser changes! The Bible says:
“… The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.” James 5:16-17
Elijah- a righteous man- prayed fervently and effected such a change that it affected the whole nation, so his praying influenced the extent of the power he expressed.
“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself…” 1 Corinthians 14:4
The word edify can also be rendered ‘charge’, every Christian has power, when we speak in tongues we charge ourselves up and better than Elijah, when we pray fervently, and have been charged passionately, we can effect enormous changes- then he says, with that power generated in prayer, God will do exceeding, abundantly and above what would have seemed remarkable to us.
This month of overflow, practice charging yourself up and speak in other tongues!
