“And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.” Luke 6:12
Isn’t awesome to know that Jesus had a personal all night? Once again showing us his desire for privacy in such moments:
‘He went OUT into a MOUNTAIN to pray’
He didn’t stay indoors with all the noise and just assumed God would understand, he went out, just like he did in Mark 1:35.
He prayed all night because he was about to make an important decision- choosing those he would stay with (Mark 3:14,19) be friends with (John 15:15), who could pick him out of the crowd easily (Mark 14:44)- his association:
“And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;” Luke 6:13
What’s remarkable is that he thought to talk to God first before he formed close relationships and he considered it serious enough to spend the whole night praying about it- do likewise.
