“And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,” Luke 22:40-41
Such an example Jesus was, it was clear at this point he had his own will (Luke 22:42) and what a temptation it was because even after praying, he had an extravagant opportunity to exercise that will during his arrest:
“As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.” John 18:(3-)6
But he had prayed, and was strengthened to walk in the will of God. (Luke 22:43).
He asked us:
“…learn of me…” (Matthew 11:29)
So learn from him, don’t just make decisions that feel good or smart, pray to ensure you don’t give into temptations of feelings and of smartness but you continuously walk in the will of God.
