“And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.” Luke 9:37
What did they go to do on the hill that they spent a whole day?
“…He took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.” Luke 9:28
He maximized a day and spent it praying with his friends; learn to take time off to pray, you can dedicate a day or more to praying (he had done 40 days prior- Matthew 4:2) and if necessary take others with you or join others who are doing likewise.
Some people plan a day to just watch movies or visit places- all of that would only feed your fleshly desires, why not go for the best, be like the Lord and fix days to strengthen your spirit: Galatians 5:17, Romans 8:5.
And what’s more? In this retreat, he got clarity on where he should be headed (Jerusalem) and what he was going to do there (die).
“Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.” Luke 9:31
So go on and plan to get direction and purpose, fix that prayer retreat today!
