“And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.” Luke 9:53
He knew where he should be headed after he had prayed and he set his face towards that location doggedly, even despite hearing rumors that were fashioned to scare him:
““The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee… Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.” Luke 13:31,33
He was going there to die after all. What’s important to note is that he did what he knew he had to do via prayer, it’s not enough to pray, when you receive guidance walk accordingly.
Prayer is communing with God, do exactly what God tells you to do when you pray and don’t make the mistake Moses did: Deuteronomy 32:50-51.
Or Samuel nearly did: 1 Samuel 16:6-7
God acknowledged they were great prophets (Jeremiah 15:1), but learn from the Son: Hebrews 1:1-2
Do what God tells you, just like Jesus was determined to do:
“Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God…” Hebrews 10:9
Bible Reading Plan: Ezekiel 20 and 21, Hebrews 10 and 11
