“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;”
Colossians 1:10

He makes clear that walking in God’s good pleasure everyday of your life is in two parts- you are fruitful in every good work and you are increasing in the knowledge of God.
So it pleases God that you remain fruitful everyday, not just stagnant and so he brings his word to you; you are watered by his word because he expects fruits that are of him: 1 Corinthians 3:5-6, Hebrews 6:7, Luke 13:7.
You do not want to be excellent and produce results more than God wants you to, and so postponing consistent fellowship with him in pursuit of your goals is shortchanging yourself in the most remarkable way.
This is a God who chose to live inside of you, meaning he didn’t just want to be informed of your endeavors, he wants to walk with you in accomplishing all that he has planned for you— he doesn’t just want you fruitful, he remains with you to ensure that you are. God sent Jesus and remained with him to ensure his fruitfulness:
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; FOR GOD WAS WITH HIM.” Acts 10:38
He sent us, and promised to never leave us till the end of time:
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations… and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20
Be conscious of him.
