“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;”
Colossians 1:10
Jesus said:
“…for without me ye can do nothing.” John 15:5
This means anything done outside the will and leading of God is counted as nothing; it might exist on the earth, but in the eyes of God, it doesn’t count. It’s like what he told us here:
“That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.” Romans 9:8
Only the children of the promise; Isaac and his descendants were counted as Abraham’s seed, because Isaac was borne out of God’s word- his promise to Abraham not natural circumstances as Ishmael, and so listen to God talking to Abraham here:
“And he said, Take now thy son, thine ONLY son Isaac…” Genesis 22:2
He talked to Abraham as though Ishmael didn’t exist, because only the children of the promise- the children of the word- that which is as a result of the word is counted with God.
There might be so much you can be busy about, but you want to produce results that matter to and counts with God? It can only be done via fellowship with him through his word.
