“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;”
Colossians 1:10
In the main verse, he tells the result of being filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 1:9)- firstly, you would walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing that means you would live your life in a way that is pleasing to God all the time!
Everyday of your life, everything you do would please God- absolutely remarkable! Such a life is only possible to the one who commits himself to God’s will and God’s will is revealed in his word.
God wants you not just to know his will but to be so full of his will, that no matter how pressed you are by external or internal challenges, your response would be exactly how he wills for you to respond. He doesn’t want you to walk with him in uncertainty and ignorance, you are not a created slave that doesn’t and shouldn’t know his will, you are his child and even more, he calls you his friend. Hear Jesus:
“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” John 15:15
He tells his friends what he wants to do, see Abraham: Genesis 18:17, James 2:23
Begin to realize what is possible in your walk with God- living everyday in his pleasure.
