“And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:17
See the comparison: the ‘world’ versus ‘he’; no matter the pressures of the world or the weight of their intimidation or the popularity of what they do, the man who does God’s word would outlast them, their numbers and their pressures.
Instead of being intimidated to side with the world, be the ‘he’ that does the word of God. Instead of giving into pressure and being perturbed, discouraged or worried, be the ‘he’ that is anxious for nothing:
“Be careful for nothing…” Philippians 4:6
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
And gives thanks in everything:
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Instead of giving into the pressures of the world and living your life according to your lusts, be the ‘he’ that recognizes that someone died so he could live absolutely for the one that died for him:
“Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.” 1 Peter 4:1-2
It is simply wisdom to choose to be the one who abides forever.
