“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”
Luke 18:1
Prayer is so important, we see people change the destinies of nations because they prayed to God, look at Prophet Amos:
“Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.” Amos 7:4, (see also verse 1)
God told him to prophesy such woe to Israel, but he prayed to God, and it was abated:
“Then said I, O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small. The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, saith the Lord GOD.” Amos 7:5-6, (see also verse 2-3)
We see the same with King Hezekiah:
“…Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD…” 2 Kings 20:1-2
It was time for him to die, but he prayed and the verdict was reversed:
“…Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee…” 2 Kings 20:5
So Jesus said pray and don’t give up; don’t get tired because things can change- people and their positions can change, don’t just accept what you’ve been given if it’s against God’s word; you aren’t supposed to give in, you are supposed to pray.
