“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;”
1 Timothy 2:1
He exhorts firstly that we pray for all men; interesting isn’t it? Praying to God should not just be about yourself and your desires but about others also.
You can see someone going through a season and decide— without announcing it to them or everyone, to pray for them, Matthew 6:5-6.
You can intercede for others; example those who are ill; too weak to even begin to think of faith, like these parents did for their children: John 4:49, Mark 7:25-29. You can pray for those who aren’t even conscious of their predicament, like Jesus prayed for Peter and the ten, Luke 22:31-31, those who are being pressed with challenges that seem so crushing, like Paul prayed for the Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians 1:3-4. You can talk to God in the place of others and get answers!
Even if they aren’t praying.
Abraham knew this, he knew that the verdict concerning Sodom and its destruction could change if he prayed, he didn’t (or have the time to) send for prayer warriors in Sodom to pray; they didn’t exist!
He knew his praying to God could make the difference and God thought the same way and responded positively to his requests, Genesis 18:20-33.
So instead of wondering why others aren’t praying to God concerning their situation, why not intercede for them?!
