“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”
Luke 18:1

Jesus teaches persevering in prayer, knowing there would be a change! That’s faith- to keep on against all odds because you know there would be a change, so Jesus said:
“…when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8
Would there be people still full of faith that wouldn’t give in at the slightest opposition, that wouldn’t let their fellowship with God and their praying be affected because of some set back?
“…be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 2:1
Even when you pray for others, you have to persevere in prayer:
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6:18
Don’t just stop and say “you prayed and nothing happened”- keep on! Persevere!
