“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”
Luke 18:1
There were times when Jesus prayed briefly and we saw changes: John 11:41-43.
There were times when he prayed for long stretches and there were changes:
“…he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray… And it came to pass, that on the NEXT DAY, when they were come down from the hill…” Luke 9:37.
“And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.” Luke 6:12
There were times when he stopped after one hour and went back to praying because, one, two hours were not enough: Mark 14:32-42.
Showing not all seasons or challenges are the same; God is not some idol that you approach when you want and he must respond how you want; you were called to fellowship with him, walk and work with him concerning his purpose for your life, and so there are times when praying for a certain period isn’t enough. So what? You get back on your knees and continue- 1 Kings 18:42-44, Luke 22:41.
