“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.”
John 17:4

When you realize that God has a plan for your life then you would be specific about your choices in life, because every choice you make must be a reflection of his plan for your life; listen to Jesus:
“As the living Father hath sent me… I live by the Father…” John 6:57
And how seriously he took it, when he was going to choose his Apostles who he later called friends (John 15:14-15), he didn’t do it casually, he knew that in his purpose, they also had a purpose:
“And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” Matthew 19:28
And so he prayed all night just to choose his association; what a man of purpose!
“And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;” Luke 6:12-13
The God who sent him had to have a say concerning those he walked with on the earth; the same should apply to you.
