“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.”
John 17:4
In prayer you are strengthened! The Bible says:
“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.” 1 Corinthians 14:4
The Greek word for ‘edify’, ‘oikodomeo’, can also be rendered ‘embolden’, so you see it used in verses like 1 Corinthians 8:10.
What’s remarkable is, edifying yourself and emboldening yourself is your responsibility! Remember God told Noah and Moses to build the ark and the tabernacle respectively, he gave them the plans but the work of following the plan accordingly and joining together the materials was their responsibility!
He gives you his word that has the ability to build you up (Acts 20:32), you take that word and build on your most holy faith (Jude 1:20), emboldening yourself by speaking in tongues.
We must submit ourselves to do God’s things God’s ways, he says the way to build your life and to become bolder is to speak with tongues, so when the temptation to choose your will over his will arise, you are strengthened with might by his Spirit in your inner man: Ephesians 3:16
Your spirit has been strengthened and is alert to choose God:
“For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.” 1 Corinthians 14:14
