“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6:18
Read what God told Elijah:
“Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.” 1 Kings 17:9
He told him he had commanded a woman
to sustain him— that was a slam dunk for Elijah, all he had to do was to just show up and he would be fed through the famine, but here’s what happened when he showed up:
“…he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand. And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.” 1 Kings 17:11-12
Even though God had commanded her, rightly positioned her, when it came to it- she had excuses.
So realize why praying is so important, people can change their mind against what they’ve been told by God, prayer can cause a persuasion otherwise, like we see it did with this judge: Luke 18:3-4.
