“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6:18
Watch and pray for all saints; the Bible tells us:
“Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.” Philippians 2:4
So look beyond yourself and pray for others, you can see what’s happening with them and decide to pray for them. Remember, it was Peter that was arrested not Paul, Paul wasn’t even stationed in Jerusalem but at Antioch, he only went with Barnabas to supply relief for the churches:
“Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea: Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.” Acts 11:29-30
Yet when Peter was arrested, everyone came together to pray without ceasing:
“…prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.” Acts 12:5
And it was after Peter’s release that Paul and Barnabas departed Jerusalem:
“And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem…” Acts 12:25
You don’t wait till you are physically and personally involved before you pray, don’t become nonchalant about what others go through, praying has no monetary cost- so why not go ahead and get answers from God- that money cannot buy- for the saints.
