“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6:18
The Bible tells us to not stop praying and to preserve in prayer.
Why persevere? Jesus tells here:
“But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.” Matthew 21:28-30
The first man refused to go but eventually changed his mind, the other man agreed to go but eventually didn’t, what was happening while they were delaying and pretending respectively? Time was being spent.
God uses people to accomplish his purposes on the earth and for our lives, at times he tells them and they refuse or delay, so what should be your response- don’t give in but keep praying to God things might be happening behind the scenes to consummate the answers to your prayer, but don’t become faithless; understand how seriously God deals with your request, Jesus said:
“And shall not God avenge his own elect… I tell you that he will avenge them SPEEDILY. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:7-8
So what seems like a delay is a reconfiguration to ensure the consummation of God’s answers to you.
