“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”
Luke 18:1
It’s the month of prayer, and we should always remind ourselves that Jesus spoke a parable with one lesson in mind: you ought, you are supposed to pray.
There are people who only pray when they need something from God or when they are about to make a life changing decision, but your praying to God shouldn’t be condition based. He is your father, he wants you to talk to him, to fellowship- that’s why he called you:
“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:9
Jesus said you are supposed to pray, and knowing he was living his life as an example for us (John 13:15), he prayed- often:
“And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray. And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.” Luke 9:28-29
As he prayed, he was transfigured- it went beyond getting something from God to a transformation of himself, his walk and his results! Same applies to you.
