“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”
Luke 4:18
“And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.” John 9:39
Jesus made clear the connection between his statement and the fallen state of men, those who were blind were those lost in sin, needing the salvation he brought- John 9:40-41.
The Bible makes clear:
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not…” 2 Corinthians 4:4
So even if the man behaves ‘okay’, he is blind and so cannot see the light of God’s glorious gospel in the face of Christ, but Jesus can grant him his sight, just like he posited— if he can wrought a physical miracle, then he can wrought a spiritual one: Mark 2:9-10.
“Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.” Matthew 9:29-30
If he made physically blind men see, he can give sight to the spiritually blind and when they receive the life he brought, they can even begin to lead others into his light:
“For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.” Psalms 36:9
