“To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:” Romans 2:7
He tells us all who seek for honour are given eternal life by God; through the new life, honour is ours.
The word ‘honour’ is translated from the Greek ‘timé’ which means ‘value’, ‘dignity’.
Everyone who has eternal life is valuable and precious in the eyes of God and so he expects us to live our life accordingly, no wonder he told us, he:
“…called us to glory and virtue:” 2 Peter 1:3
We weren’t just called to live a life of glory, but also a life of virtue- a life of excellence that expresses the divinity and value we now possess as children of the living God.
“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” Romans 8:32
In his desire to give you his life, nothing was worth sparing; don’t treat yourself like a nobody; it’s a poor response to the sacrifice and expectations of the father!
“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17
