“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:”
1 Peter 1:7

God expects you to do the word and not just hear, so it should really come as no surprise when opportunities present themselves for you to move from being just a hearer to a doer of the word of God; doing the word of God is using your faith:
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:22
Now that you are born again and all things are new, God expects you to renew your mind with his word; replace your old way of seeing, thinking about, talking, doing things with God’s methods revealed to you in his word:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
Renewing your mind with God’s word means imbibing into your consciousness God’s will for your life and for all things and as such trials to your faith would cause you to prove what God’s will is in every situation. A health challenge is an opportunity for you to prove God’s desire for your soundness by insisting of his word and his goodness.
