“To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:” (Galatians 1:16)

When Paul returned from Arabia, he didn’t venture off immediately into his Apostleship, he served in a church: Acts 11:26
He even served in delivering aid, and recognized he was under authority- Acts 11:28-30.
Till it became clear to not just him but to the church what God would have him do, and with prayer and fasting he went off:
“As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.” Acts 13:2-3
He recognized what the church was, and knew there was an order with which God did things, just like David didn’t run off to kill Saul and crown himself king once oil was poured on his head. He was the one who said:
“But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” 1 Timothy 3:15
So the church would always be the pillar and ground of truth and there is a prescribed manner with which all in the church must behave; you don’t go rogue- Philippians 1:27-28.
