“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.”
Luke 1:80

The Bible tells us that John the Baptist didn’t just appear in Judea suddenly and started talking, he was prepared from a young age for that moment.
It shows the importance of preparation, the Bible tells us that Jesus fellowshipped with his disciples for forty days after his resurrection:
“To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:” Acts 1:3
And after ministering the word of the kingdom to them all of that period, he still asked them to wait to be enabled by the Holy Ghost before they went out to preach (Acts 1:8)— three years walking with him, forty days listening to him and then an empowerment before their being revealed, and what results they wrought for the Lord after their period of preparation:
“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.” Acts 2:41
