“Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” Matthew 17:21

Give yourself to the word, the word of God is life, as important as food is for sustenance, God’s word is even more important:
“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4
God expects you to live your life by his word because situations would arise to question your identity, who you truly are, just like they arose for Jesus, but your knowledge of God’s word would put you over just like it did for Jesus.
“And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” Matthew 4:3
Circumstances would arise that might want to frighten you out of God’s purposes for your life, just like they arose for Jesus:
“The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.” Luke 13:31
But your knowledge of God’s word would put you over like it did for Jesus, see Luke 13:33, Luke 9:31
Winning in life, being a success- which is really reaching God’s planned destiny for you- can only happen through the word.
