“For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.”
Philippians 2:21

“(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)” Philippians 3:18-19
What a description, and notice he uses the word ‘many’ to quantify the number of people who mind earthly things, who focus on and prioritize things that would further their personal ambitions and satisfactions; such aspirations, for a child of God, should be shameful, but there are those who glory in them. They put themselves first before the cause of the Lord Jesus, and he admonishes you to be different.
Jesus said:
“For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” John 6:38
He was very clear- his existence on the earth was to fulfill the will of God, his sojourn on the earth had one purpose- the glory of God, that was what he sought, he didn’t seek his own glory, neither should you:
“And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.” John 8:50
“He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.” John 7:18
Seek that which is Jesus, he gave you his life, knowing that- go ahead and live for him: “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15
