“Despise not prophesyings.”
1 Thessalonians 5:20
Look at this:
“This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;” 1 Timothy 1:18
He says it’s a good warfare- meaning, it expected that he wins! With prophecy, he would war a good warfare, irrespective of what he faced in his day, holding on- remembering and declaring- the prophecies that went before on him, he would remain unmoved. The Bible says:
“For we wrestle …” Ephesians 6:12
In wrestling, it is important that you remain standing- that’s how you win, and so he admonished us to:
“…and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore…”
Ephesians 6:13-14
But remaining standing isn’t by your mental prowess, he says use the words of prophecy and war a good warfare- if the devil tries to push you down or tackle you with health, financial, emotional or spiritual issues- remain standing and unmoved because: Psalms 46:1-5.
