“The Lord takes care of me as his sheep; I will not be without any good thing.” Psalm 23:1, BBE
God has taken care of your needs, so Jesus said don’t bother about them:
“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.” Matthew 6:31-32
He is so precise; he says don’t take thoughts about what to eat or wear or all the things unbelievers are bothered about- he says, God has taken care of them!
If there is an extra care that you might have that seems a bit more sophisticated than what to eat and wear, he tells you to cast them upon the Lord; let him be the one to care about it and not you:
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
God’s desire is that you are an expression of his goodness, and in a world where absolute goodness isn’t expected, he brings you his word, so you can have faith for what is possible with him and declare boldly that because he is your shepherd, nothing will be too good for you!
