“For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you: for I know the forwardness of your mind… and your zeal hath provoked very many.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭1‬-‭2‬

The Apostle was certain about how eager and ready the church were in their mind and purposeful in their heart to give, and because of that he said this:
“Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready… that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭3‬, ‭5‬
It’s not enough to have a ready and eager mind matched with a purposeful heart, there must be action and a structure set to enable that action; and so he sent others ahead of him to the church and incorporated a system where they gave steadily and increasingly and were encouraged to do so bountifully and not sparingly (verse 6), so they didn’t come across as being forced or unprepared in the day of collection, even though in their hearts and minds, they had really wanted to give.
