“For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you: for I know the forwardness of your mind… and your zeal hath provoked very many.”
2 Corinthians 9:1-2
Giving- the zeal to give and what is given- can provoke others to follow suit and walk in a blessing:
“…remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
And we see in the main verse, that the zeal of the church at Corinth had provoked other believers in another nation, and true to God’s expectation that the giving of one can provoke another, you notice this:
“He called his disciples together and said to them, “I tell you that this poor widow put more in the offering box than all the others.” Mark 12:43 GNBUK
He expected them to be provoked and impressed by her giving BECAUSE HE WAS and he is God himself, and no surprises because we also observe how God was impressed and provoked by the giving of a young king: 1 Kings 3:4-5.
