“So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.”
Romans 1:15
Be inspired by this:
“I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.” Romans 1:14
There was no discrimination with Paul. Everybody was a perfect candidate to hear what he had to say, he was so committed to the gospel, the scare of imprisonment and/or death had no grip on him:
“Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” Acts 21:13
He was willing to be greatly inconvenienced for the purpose of the gospel- and in his day, sharing the good news could have sent him to jail and have him killed- and it did eventually, but it is not so in our day. Are you ready to be inconvenienced because you have to share the gospel or do you only share the gospel when you are highly comfortable with lots of time in your hand, which rarely even happens? Some were beating in public because of what they said, and afterwards, they were still willing and ready to share the gospel:
“…when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go… and daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” Acts 5:40-42
Hope some slight embarrassment or discomfort has not caused you to push sharing the good news to the sidelines? The consequence of people not hearing and believing far outweighs whatever you might face, because afterall, you have a promised eternal security- they don’t.
