“We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.”
1 John 3:14

Jesus already said anyone who receives eternal life has entered a realm of life:
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” John 5:24
And because death came into the world because sin, passing from death into life, means he has passed from sin into righteousness:
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin…” Romans 5:12
No wonder he says in John 5:24 that such a person shall not come into condemnation— he has been made sin-free; the law that causes man to sin in order to die has ceased to operate in his life, there is a different law at work in and for him:
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2
It is no longer a principle or an expectation that he must sin and be affected by death, but instead he is now in a place where a law that ensures he walks in righteousness and exudes life works in and for him! Glory!! 1 John 3:5-6.
