“Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?” John 18:4
Jesus entered into the word of God that had been spoken concerning him doggedly and missed many opportunities to retreat.
During his arrest, the officers fell under the power providing an opportunity for escape, but he remained in God’s word concerning him and waited for them to get themselves together and stand up!
“As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.” John 18:6
Afterwards, his Apostle was ready to start a holy war in his defense:
“Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” John 18:10
instead he calmed the situation and said this to his detractors:
“…this is your hour…” Luke 22:53
He knew what time it was- it was time for the word and so no matter the temptation to think otherwise he remained resolved to be found in God’s word!
It’s your time to shine- no matter the darkness, learn from Jesus, remain resolved to shine and dispel the dark and not give into seeming contrary happenings.
