“He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.”
Proverbs 11:28

The Bible warns those that are in a haste to amass this world’s riches:
“A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.” Proverbs 28:20. See also, 1 Timothy 6:9-10
At the end he tells us everything would wax old as a garment (Hebrews 1:10-12) and would be burnt (2 Peter 3:10) knowing that, he shows us what our disposition on the earth should be:
“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,” 2 Peter 3:11
In verse 12, he tells us to hasting the coming of the Lord and set our hearts on the new heavens and earth where righteousness dwell, that way we don’t get entangled with events and positions that drown men in destruction and perdition.
Irrespective of the pressures and oppositions around us, we should remain fixated on the word:
“Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.” Psalms 119:23-24, see verse 51
Because the promise of life, durable riches and righteousness resides in the word: Proverbs 8:18.
