“And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.”
Mark 5:39
Jesus is such an example and what great privilege we have to follow him and walk as he walked:
“He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” 1 John 2:6
He entered Jairus’ house and it was tumultuous:
“And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.” Mark 5:38
You would think he would read the room and begin to vocalize his condolences, the last thing anybody would expect is a vocalization of his faith in such a dire and gloomy environment, but he is the perfect example of what it is like to be unmoved by one’s five senses, he didn’t respond based on what he saw or heard:
“And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.” Mark 5:39
The bible says:
“And they laughed him to scorn…” Mark 5:40
They mocked him, he became the object of their ridicule, you would think he’d blush, not Jesus:
“…he had put them all out…” Mark 5:40
His expression was righteousness all through, he didn’t let the people’s sad or mocking demeanor affect his response, he had told Jairus not to fear because he knew it was never too late with God and truly, Jairus’ daughter came back to life:
“And straightway the damsel arose, and walked…” Mark 5:42
Do not let situations, people or sudden happenings influence your response. Respond according to the word of God first and remain steadfast in that response, remember:
“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.” James 1:8,7
