“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”
Hebrews 13:15
It is amazing that he expresses what should be the content of our praises- giving thanks to his name, the word ‘giving thanks’ is from the Greek ‘homologeo’ which means ‘to say the same thing as another in agreement’, so God expects that in your praise to him, you declare in agreement the glory of his name revealed to us in the word of God:
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11
