“But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;”
Ephesians 5:3
We are the sanctified ones; this is so important, that we are called saints- a consistent reminder of our sanctification and separation from this world. The Bible tells us:
“Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:” Galatians 1:4
One reason he gave himself for us is to deliver us- root us out- of this present evil world. When it comes to the world; asides from the people in it that God loves, he leaves no doubt in our minds concerning his thoughts- it is an evil world, and he wants us far removed from the systems and pleasures in the world, just as Jesus was far removed and vocalised his consciousness:
“And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.” John 8:23
We are not of this world; we are the called out and separated ones.
