“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”  
2Corinthians 5:17

He tells us to see that things are new now! When you got born again, your physical appearance did not change, even the national economy and news of the day did not change, but God said see that all things are become new. This means, he doesn’t expect you to look at your physical mirror or the world to get that information, because you wouldn’t get it.
He expects you to look at the word of God:
“For if any be a HEARER OF THE WORD, and not a doer, he is LIKE UNTO A MAN BEHOLDING his natural face in a glass:”  James 1:23
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”  2Corinthians 3:18
The good news is as you behold, you see even more and you increase in glory, Just like Jesus:
“For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.”  John 5:20
Jesus always anticipated that God will show him more greater things, he told Nathaniel exactly the same thing:
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.”  John 1:50
This should be your life, looking at the word of God to understand who you are, and expecting to increase in glory as you see more glorious things!
