“The Father loves me because I give my life…”
John 10:17, ERV

“And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.” John 8:23
Jesus was not of this world, and so he didn’t act like the people of the world- he lived a higher and better life, and what’s more remarkable is he expects us to live the same way he did. He had said about us:
“They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” John 17:16
And the Bible tells us: 1 John 2:6.
So the world might celebrate vengefulness and retaliation, but we are not of the world. Just like he laid down his life for us, he places on us the same responsibility towards our brothers and sisters in Christ:
“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” 1 John 3:16
It takes no effort to be scornful, condemnatory or evil, those are all expressions of the fallen natural man as we see here: John 8:5, but because you are a new person, be gracious and kind, like Jesus was here: John 8:10-11.
