“The Father loves me because I give my life…”
John 10:17, ERV
Jesus said:
“… For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required…” Luke 12:48
And this is what God can do:
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” 2 Corinthians 9:8
He can make all grace abound towards you for a reason- so you’d always have the resources you require to help others!
It truly is a life of grace heaped upon grace, John 1:16.
If he gives you more grace, he expects you to be more gracious to others. If your expectation is that you experience increased favour everywhere you go and in all that concern you, just for the purpose of your self promotion, you might as well not expect anything from God:
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” James 4:3
Not just that, but he resists such self promoting desires:
“…God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” James 4:6
Remember, Jesus told us he was burdened to be gracious, and this means he actually wants to give you more than enough.
