Jesus made clear the reason he came; he differentiated himself from the thief whose sole purpose is to steal, kill and destroy and instead of saying he came with a padlock or a security officer which are naturally better restraints on the thief, he instead, loudly declared he brought life- meaning there’s something about receiving that life that would immune the Christian from the thief.
